Alec Kohn is a trial attorney and former prosecutor with courtroom experience on both sides of the aisle, in criminal and civil matters alike. As Managing Partner and Founder of The Kohn Law Firm, he represents people, not institutions, with the personal attention every client deserves.
Alec began his career at the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office, where he spent three years as a prosecutor. He served as an Assistant Chief in the crimes unit, overseeing 40 attorneys, and later as a felony trial attorney. During that time he handled thousands of cases from first appearance through post-trial hearings and practiced before more than 12 judges in Miami alone.
That experience gave him rare, early courtroom exposure and taught him how the state builds and evaluates a case, insight he now uses on behalf of the people he represents. He has tried more than 20 cases to verdict in both bench and jury trials.
Alec then joined a prominent civil litigation firm, where he handled a wide range of high-stakes and complex matters from pre-suit demands through post-trial litigation. He originated and litigated cases against Fortune 500 companies and top defense firms on behalf of injured clients, including high-profile negligent security and personal injury matters that made him widely featured in South Florida media.
Alec founded The Kohn Law Firm to combine everything he learned, as a prosecutor, as a civil litigator, and in the courtroom, into a practice built around the client.
